This is a blind playthrough of the game. As such, please avoid posting puzzle solutions or plot spoilers, so as to not spoil the experience for me or other viewers who haven’t played the game.

We’ve made a fair amount of headway through the Noria Mines alongside Kaeris, rushing to reach her beleaguered home village in the hopes that we can save it from calamity. If I know anything about RPGs with plots such as this, we’ll either arrive when things look grim but are still salvageable or just too late to stop the villain from destroying everything. Either way, we’re far from the point where we’re ready to oppose said bad guy, not that that’ll stop us from trying – and failing – should we get the opportunity. No amount of grinding will help us in that situation, but it can’t hurt to accumulate a little more cash for the inevitable shop that’s surely in our future.

First things first though, we need to make our way out of this mine that looks an awful lot like a dungeon. It’s funny how often that happens, is it not?

While I’ve not been doing too badly at spotting the references to other RPGs hidden about here and there, it’s a given that there’ll be some that have eluded me. A couple will be because they’re referencing something I haven’t played before, but most are because my mind hasn’t yet connected the dots up. I’ll certainly kick myself later for not noticing the ones I’ve overlooked sooner but while we’re wallowing in cliché, let me take the opportunity to remind you all that hindsight is 20/20.
