Let’s Play Evoland #06: Going Back to go Forward
This is a blind playthrough of the game. As such, please avoid posting puzzle solutions or plot spoilers, so as to not spoil the experience for me or other viewers who haven’t played the game.
Up until now, the world we’ve been travelling through has been more advanced, both graphically and mechanically. Without said advances, we’d still be stuck on that single line of land without the ability to go left, dooming the world to disaster as it is consumed by the ever-encroaching wastes from the black citadel. One would presume that this trend will continue unabated, adding more and more things that we can do and see, all to help us progress.
That is not the case however, for there are some puzzles in this game that all the new mechanics we have access to are preventing us from solving. If only there was a way for us to step back in time to a point when gameplay was simpler, but such things cannot be. There’s no way for the crystals that propelled Kikoskia and Kaeris into the 3D world to revert things back to 2D, allowing us to solve a really long and complicated puzzle.
Nope, no way at all. Ignore that the thumbnail clearly shows us navigating a 2D world, for we can’t get there. It’s impossible.
