We start things off by catching Doom Gaze and choosing not to deal with any of his crap. We buy the espers in the auction house and fail to pick up Gau because I'm an idiot.

We also pick up Mog and an overpowered relic that lets me ignore all random encounters. Then I use said relic to go up the Magi Tower alot sooner than we should and get the Gem Box.

Doom Gaze is a random encounter while flying in the airship. Each time you take off, Doom Gaze will be on a random point on the map. Hit him and you fight him. After a bit, he will usually run away but his HP does not recover. Killing him (unless you kill him with X-Zone0 will get you the Bahamut esper. Doom Gaze uses alot of death spells and is vulnerable to Fire and Pearl (Holy). In the SNES version, you can just Vanish him and Doom him to kill him instantly and skip over chasing him down over and over. Sorry for the cheese but I am not going to hunt him down four to five times in some random point of the ENTIRE world map.

White Dragon just casts Dispel and Pearl over and over again. He really is not that bad but I cheesed him anyway (don't worry, I refight him in a later part). Just nuke him with your strongest attacks (cept Pearl of course).

The Magi Master knows alot of heavy spells and will cast Ultima as a final attack should you slay him. Casting Berserk on him will limit him to just physical attacks and the Ultima final attack upon death. So the key to this is surviving Ultima. Easiest way to do this is with Life 3 but that can only be learned from Phoenix (which we don't have yet). The other way is to kill Magi Master by burning away all his MP much like Atma Weapon. This will kill him and he will not attempt to cast Ultima. It takes a VERY long time burn away all his MP though.
