Let's Play Genius of Sappheiros (Weekend) Part 10
Time for another boss fight.
Satori:
Where Alice summoned various dolls with a variety of resistances, skills, and stats, Satori does not bother with minions and simply alters her own attributes. She starts off neutral, doing mostly status effects until a few turns into the battle when she does Elemental Shift.
The element she picks is decided by her dialogue (or you can guess and check but that is not advised). She will shift to one of the standard four elements. Her attacks will involve the element and her stats will change accordingly. Hitting her with the opposing element works best.
When in a form, she may use Spiritual Unison, a self buff that allows her to use her strongest attack the next turn. This attack varies depending on the element. Fire and Wind just do All Area attacks while Earth and Water do something far more annoying. Earth will do Petro Breath which has a high chance of causing Petrification. Petrification is much like Paralysis but it does not wear off over time. If an entire party gets this effect, the battle will end immediately. Her water final attack is Elixir which will restore her to full health. Both these attacks you have to prevent at all costs (unless its real early in the battle in the case of Elixir).
Private Square may cause the buff to wear off without Satori being able to take an action. Killing World can prevent all healing to nullify Elixir. Reimu's Evil Sealing Circle can deal with Petro Breath or you can try buffing your Res. Besides that, just hit her with everything you got.
Satori: Blue Mage. Due to being able to learn monster spells and skills, Satori has the widest variety of moves. Unfortunately, most of these moves are extremely inefficient MP wise and most are nowhere near as strong as other party members' attacks. But there are a number of monsters skills that are hard to duplicate with regular moves that she can learn later on. Also... She can learn Mind Blast from Mind Flayers making her good for a quick group paralyze. Stat wise, she is sub par but she can provide support in either attack and defense once you spend the time learning the appropriate spells. Her own spells are just group status effects and debuffs much like Byakuren.
