Finally, Eeyore shuts up long enough to actually enter the dungeon/labyrinth/treething. We run into a familiar face but also several unfamiliar faces as well. This game does front load alot of character meetings which could be hard to keep track of for those not familiar with the series. The game also puts forth an effort in giving a bit more tutorial which is good for new players (such as putting tanks on the left slots etc.).

Achievements are added to the game which are rather nice. They give money, items, and sometimes even unlock characters. Most are pretty reasonable things and involve doing simple tasks in abundance.

We also send Rinnosuke to solve this incident on his own. Lets see how that pans out...


Momiji Inubashiri (Petty Patrol Tengu)

Our first new addition to the Labyrinth series. Momiji is also are first tanky character in the game. I would compare her to Remilia in the tanky department. Momiji has really good defensive stats but not much in the form of actual tanky skills. She has a decent Physical single target and an All Area Wind attack which can lead her into becoming a bruiser type character instead of a main tank. Passive skills including constantly getting a Speed buff to herself and buffing the entire front rows Accuracy which can help with dealing with early game misses from less accurate spellcards (yes, there is Evasion in this game). Instant Attack can make Momiji into an interesting swap choice, allowing you to swap out a character with low ATB with Momiji then have Momiji immediately use her Instant Action to swap the character back in at 7500 ATB.

Kasen Ibaraki (One-Armed, Horned Hermit)

This character is meant for later in the game but you can get her early by just dying alot. Kasen is nothing short of amazing in the early game. She has high overall stats and rather powerful attacks along with a self buff that buffs all stats. She does not have much MP and her spells are rather expensive though. But, she is a rather effective bruiser type and many early bosses are vulnerable to her Dark based attack. She sports a single target Dark attack that causes Terror and debuffs Atk/Speed, an All Area Nature attack, and a single target Wind attack that debuffs Mind and causes Paralysis. Her passives include adding additional status effects to all her attacks (Silence/Shock) and abilities that buff her damage output and reduction the longer she is out in front during battle. She can even ignore death half the time once she maxes out Guts.
