Let's Play Labyrinth of Touhou (Part 39)
10We hunt down Orin and capture her. Key thing to note about the Orin fight is that it comes after many battles against the Knights. You fight two single knights, two pairs of knights, and finally a group of three. Make sure you keep your sp and tp up and have your party ready for Orin before the end of the final battle.
Orin (boss):
Besides the tiring fights against the knights, this battle is not that difficult. Orin will attack twice with Cat's Walk which will more than likely do no damage to your tanks and then follows with a more powerful attack. The special attacks start with spirit based attacks that cause instant death and these will evolve over time as she takes more damage. Former Hell's Needle Hill can be a somewhat damaging aoe attack. Vengeful Cannibal Spirit is a single target that carries alot of debuffs and causes poison. And her most powerful attack, Blazing Wheel, is a rather nasty aoe Fire attack. But with enough defenses and some affinities to Fire and Spirit will easily declaw this feline.
Orin (or just Rin):
Kasha Youkai (Cat Youkai that steals dead bodies and takes them to the underworld)
Another feline speed character. She is slower than Chen and her Cat's Paw is nowhere near as strong as Chen's attacks. But where she lacks in single confrontations, she makes up for in being a very skilled sweeper.
Cat's Paw is an extremely weak physical attack but has a very low delay making it good for manipulating turn order. Vengeful Cannibal Spirit is a single target composite Spirit attack that debuffs Defense by 50% and causes Poison. Former Hell's Needle Hill is a non element physical area attack that has decent piercing. And her final spell, Blazing Wheel, is a composite Fire area attack with high ratios.
I usually use Rin for her Former Hell's Needle and use that to kill most groups of monsters. But in a pinch, I have used her boss fights for some extra damage or debuffs. Just make sure you do not leave her out in the open during attacks.
