410It stands to reason that other people may still be alive in the dark depths of the mountain; if they're still trying to escape or have decided to make the dungeon their home remains to be seen. So far all the former criminals thrown in have been encountered as rotting skeletons. Still, it might be theoretically possible to survive there, especially if the snails are plentiful enough that you could use them as a reliable food source. Light would run out eventually if you weren't a sorcerer but you'd grow used to the darkness. It wouldn't be much of an existence but it's better then being dead.
Of course, Heather and the group have to presume that they're the only ones alive and that if even if they find others, they are likely to be hostile.
...Or will they?
