Let's Play Mega Man 5 - Part 16: Mega Man vs. Wily Machine
We now come to the final stage of the game, which basically consists of nothing more than the final boss battle (well, there is a *little* bit of a stage before it, but not much of one). This battle consists of two phases, neither of which are all that difficult. I needed only one E-Tank, and I wasn't even using his weakness (though I was using the overpowered charged Mega Buster...). First, of course, is the big skull-shaped tank, followed by the appearing/disappearing capsule routine. In fact, Dr. Wily in this game fights pretty similarly to how he does in the previous one.
In any case...Mega Man 5 is finished. I wouldn't rank this among my favorite Mega Man games, but I wouldn't put it in my least favorites either; it's near the middle both chronologically and according to how much I like them. It seems to be one of the easier games in the series, though that's partly because of the Mega Buster. Besides that, the soundtrack is underrated (the fortress stage themes in particular are good), the special weapons are lame, you still don't get a password in between the two fortresses, and there are a number of pretty decent stage gimmicks (Gravity Man's comes to mind). It is a pretty fun game, though, and worth playing if you like that kind of thing. More Mega Man games will come in the future, but it's time to turn the lights out on this one. See you next time!
