Let's Play Super Mario Bros. 3 - Part 17: Puzzling Pipes, Perplexing Palaces, and Piranha Plants
1Huh, I uploaded episode 17 on the 17th. What do you know. In any case, the middle section of World 7 isn't too difficult on the platforming and enemy side of things, but around here is where the "pipe maze" concept gets put into action the most. 7-5 is a classic maze kind of level, with many vertical double-ended pipes to keep track of. Then we come to the fortress...and it has the distinction of being the only level in the game with absolutely no enemies other than the boss. The tricky bit there is figuring out where the exit is. Then we go to 7-6, which is sort of an easier but slightly more puzzle-oriented version of 7-1, with platforms that can change direction when stepped on. And finally, 7-7 is the only level in this group that is not remotely a puzzle...just several invincibility stars and lots of Munchers!
