Unfortunately, summons really do not scale well. Every esper lacks at least one symbol effect which means a percentage of symbols on each attack are wasted. The biggest issue is the lack of rerolls which means they drop Courage which causes all of them to lose Courage (thanks to Soul Bond). Espers at best will provide some sort of unique effect and act as tanks to draw attacks.

Diem and Femke tend to be the highest dps out of the espers. Level 4 espers do not seem to have higher damage but a variety of effects (such as Agares' push and pull).

For those thinking maybe the Valentines' Bundle will provide some stronger espers, they don't. If the planets align, Luperci and the chainsaw sisters can pump out some damage due to being three figures. But in the end, the twins are the highest dps due to having rerolls and Femke having Quick Blow. Even Eliphie tends to do better thanks to the armor debuff aura she has.
