Let's Play Mirror's Edge | Chapter 2: Flight | Kate is Framed | Pope's Murder
Welcome to Mirror's Edge, a 3D platformer that focuses on momentum, flow, and parkour where you play as Faith Connors. The world has changed in the future and cities are now protected and run by private corporations instead of Governments. In such cities, there exist runners who live on the edge between the illusion created by the companies and the harsh reality of life and transport sensitive material across rooftops while avoiding law enforcement. One such runner, Faith, has a sister, Kate, who is a cop. One day, she gets framed for the murder of a mayoral candidate. Now, Faith must get to the bottom of the matter and dig out all the dirt that she can find so that her sister does not get wrongfully convicted of a crime that she did not commit. The game also features elements of combat, but running is more encouraged as combat is quite difficult.
After the ordinary mission that provoked an extraordinary response from the police force, Faith was chilling at Merc's lair and listening to the police scanners while eating pizza the way she usually does. It was morning and she was just about to turn in when she heard her sister's voice over the police radio followed by a call for reinforcements at the very location where her sister recently went. This compelled her to go and investigate what her sister had been up to. Upon Merc's arrival, she immediately plugged in her comms and went straight for West Arlington where her sister, Kate, had called for backup.
She arrived before the police only to find her sister sitting alone with the corpse of Robert Pope, their family friend and mayoral candidate who had been promising to make major changes to the system of Government in the city. Kate doesn't remember how she got there, only that she woke up there to find Pope dead and quite certain that he was shot by her gun. The only piece of conclusive evidence on scene was a piece of paper that said "Icarus... to the highest." Lifting it from the scene, Faith began running away from the heavily armed response that Kate's backup call had instigated.
They kept chasing her for a long time across multiple streets and buildings and the only way out for her was to take a leap of faith through a glass ceiling under the metro bridge and escape with the help of another runner.
