Napalm: The Crimson Crisis is a real-time strategy developed by Slovakian developer Ablaze Entertainment with Canadian studio clickBOOM Interactive, and published by PXL Computers. The game was released in 1998 exclusively on the Amiga, and is one of the few traditional base-building real-time strategy game on the system.
The game takes place in the future. The robots have risen up against the humans, and now the two factions fight for dominance. Napalm: The Crimson Crisis is a clone of the original COmmand & Conquer at its core, and uses a very similar interface and build system. However, to gain access to resources, the player has to erect oil towers of oil wells and haul the oil with lorries instead of harvesting resources directly off the ground.
Napalm: The Crimson Crisis features one campaign for each side as well as a multiplayer mode. Though it was released very late in the Amiga's life cycle, it received positive reviews and apparently performed well enough to warrant the development of State of War, a real-time strategy game for Windows. While the gameplay of State of War differs from that of Napalm: The Crimson Crisis, the game share an art style and a number of design choices.
