Let's Play No More Heroes - Part 20 - The Exit They Call Heroes' Paradise (Finale)
In this part we return to our Motel after our hard fought battle and sit on our throne as the #1 Ranked Assassin. I mean the toilet, obviously! Aaaaaah, much be-WOAH! Can't a guy get some privacy? At least when he's taking a dump!
No rest for the wicked, cause now that we're on top, every assassin in the country is going to come for our head! But one man in particular has had enough time in the shadows and confronts us to see who truly is the best! It's the Exibition Match of the century and one thing's for sure. When the dust has settled, there will be...NO. MORE. HEROES.

Damn! I feel like I need a breather! Tearing down the 4th Wall like that with such ferocity really takes a toll! And I wouldn't want it any other way. There's nothing else in the world like a SUDA51 helmed adventure and this one makes a strong case for being his absolute best.
Travis Touchdown is one of my favorite characters (with Robin Atkin Downes fantastic performance stealing the show) and his climb to the top is insanely entertaining. Cutting through mooks is fun in its own right, but the fellow assassins you encounter are where the game really shines. Each and every one of them ooze personality and it helps that the fights themselves are great too!
Another aspect that the game shines in is it's soundtrack. While admittedly repetitive in some levels, the core theme is one of my absolute favorites and the majority of boss themes are bangers as well! While I don't like the sequel as much for a variety of reasons, the soundtrack is actually even better than this game!
Speaking of improvement, it doesn't take a genius to see the faults this game has. The open-world isn't fully realized, the levels tend to devolve into the same mook filled hallways, and there's a laundry list of performance issues...which goes triple for this PS3 version! But I still love it all the same! I don't know if I'd feel the same way if those problems weren't present. It adds to the quirkyness and it makes the good stand out even more.
No More Heroes is an absolute treat to experience and I hope that this revisit to the game did it some justice. I can't wait to see what the future of the SUDA-verse holds, whether that be a 3rd mainline NMH title, a new game entirely, or the recently released spinoff, Travis Strikes Again. Speaking of...what kind of fanatic would I be if we didn't take it for a spin. I'll see you all again...very...soon.
I hope you enjoyed the LP ;D
