After exploring more of Evernight, we finally encounter the Spider Queen that was partially responsible for out ship crashing and get our revenge by brutally killing her, thus making it where all of the smaller spiders are not only completely harmless, but completely subservient to us in the form of becoming mounts for the Greens, which increases their damage output and allows them to climb up walls. So between that and taking away the Browns’ ability to grab onto enemies’ backs to cause direct damage, thus making the Greens unique in that regard, it’s never been a better time to be a Green Minion.
Though if there’s one thing about this game that I’m not all too fond of, it’s the boss fight. Sure the creatures we fight against look pretty epic and the music’s great, but the fights themselves are pretty boring. Essentially, in this game, most of the main bosses consist of a large enemy that’s mostly passive and only really fights by summoning regular enemies and/or doing some easily predictable direct attack. Seriously, the only challenge with the Spider Queen is figuring out that you need to use the flowers to lure her over to where the water will pour out once you hit the switch. Now I'm not saying that every boss from the first “Overlord” game was perfect (the final boss in the main story can be killed with one round of attacks), but with every battle, the bosses moved around and tried to attack you frequently (with the obvious exception of Oberon since he embodied the sin of sloth), thus keeping you on your toes.
