Game published 1988 by SSI (Gamefest CD-ROM published 2001 by Interplay).
Having carefully chosen the best interior terrain to trigger the big "mini-boss battle" against Mace the evil cleric and his hordes of orcish followers, we fail to fall back to our chosen "choke point" to create a defensive line (because the PCs start out already engaged in melee with the foremost orcs). At least we're only facing orcs from one direction - wrapped around a bit, perhaps, but at least not attacking us from the rear as well.
Mace manages to get off a Hold Person spell (paralyzing Gimli) before we can neutralize him. His followers (especially the archers) succumb quite nicely to Sleep, Hold Person and Stinking Cloud. Although most of the party is injured during the battle (and Gimli requires bandaging to avoid death), we ultimately win! (Too bad Dirten couldn't have spared a few healing spells for the other party members before reclaiming the temple for his own deity!)
