This is a blind playthrough. Kindly avoid posting spoilers in the comments or solutions to puzzles either in this video or future ones so as not to spoil the experience for me or those that haven’t seen the game before.

Though we can reach the final boss – whatever it turns out to be – we have two more races left to do. The first is from the level we just cleared the war mode on, Pompeii, while the second is La Mancha. We need clear neither to actually complete the game but it always pays to be as thorough as possible just in case doing so unlocks something neat.

Now that I think about it, weren’t we trying to hide away from someone, someone that’s really mad at us? I wonder what happened to them...

Rock of Ages 2 is everything that the first game was and so much more. It’s faster, more frantic, and so much prettier while retaining what made the first great: solid gameplay, fantastic renditions of classical music and python-esque humour that is both absurd and rather clever all at once. The changes to how many defensive structures you can use in any level and every boulder having certain stats and abilities adds another layer of strategy while the obstacle race forces you to tackle the courses in a very different way. My only real complaint is that I’d of liked a couple more levels and perhaps a reason to take two boulders; losing two defensive options never seemed worth it to me. If you liked the first game, by all means pick up the second and be prepared for even more awesome silliness.

So, what’s next? There’s still one more thing I’d like to show off in this game, one boulder in particular whose playstyle is very different from all the others. After that, however, we’ll be playing something else and that something else is not going to be Rock of Ages 3. The reviews for it haven’t been too kind and I’d rather wait to see if said flaws will be improved then tarnish my love of the first two games. Instead, we’re going to return to a game that I’ve played a fair bit of, albeit out of order… and yet not. It’s also quite possibly one of the most recent games I’ve let’s played ever… and yet not. Confused? Worry not, all will become clear in time.

See you next let’s play!
