Let's Play: The Blackwell Epiphany - Part 3 - The (series) finale
Part 3 of my playthrough of The Blackwell Epiphany, and the finale of both the game and the series. In this installment we solve our final ghost crime of the game, get a couple rather sharp plot twists, get reunited with family, sorta, and then watch the credits roll.
I am a bag of emotions with this one. I'm really glad to finish the series, but also sad. I'm really impressed with how these games evolved over time in almost every respect: music, writing, pacing, art, character development, sound design, puzzle construction. All of it. This series starts off with a reasonable start and just gets better with each installment. I don't think it's a perfect story (some plot threads were dropped, and a couple decisions don't quite hold up under their own weight), but for me to play five games in a series and not think any of them were bad? That's an accomplishment all on it's own. The fact that many of the games were in fact good? Even more of an accomplishment.
Much like Madeline says in regards to The Journey of the Soul. Whist the destination was good, taking the journey of playing these games was far more rewarding than just the ending itself. I'm so glad I got the opportunity to play these games, and that they were brought to my attention by someone that dropped into my chat.
What a great series.
