Let's Play The Elder Scrolls Arena Blind - Part 33 - Viva Piñata, the Dungeon Experience
We continue the adventures in the Temple of the Mad God by travelling to floor 2. This is pretty much a lengthy reconnaissance as I wander around a giant dungeon that apparently takes a good amount of time to explore.
Floor 2 pretty much amounts to a bunch of rooms behind gateway-like doors and corridors connecting the rooms. There are some more rewards down on this floor, making exploration a bit more worth it, though it still feels lighter than something like the Fortress of Ice or the Temple of Agamanus.
This place is pretty claustrophobic, most rooms are pretty tightly packed together. This place doesn't have much in the way of empty space in regards to size, though many of the rooms are rather large for the little amount that is offered. Several of them will also have raised surfaces, many of them annoying to climb up on.
The most significant area of this part is the central portion of this dungeon that is the intended holding area for the Diamond. However, upon making it to the room we get a message that the Diamond has been moved to a small storage room, meaning we will need to wander around some more before we can retrieve it. We should have expected "the princess is in another castle" at some point.
While enemy variety is pretty big here, the majority seems to be Orcs and Skeletons as your common weaklings. We also get a good amount of Monks that serve to avoid nearly every hit we throw at it, as well as the return of Iron Golems with a much bigger presence than we saw in the Labyrinthian. Even more than ever, Paralyzation becomes quite the life saver in this part, since it manages to convert these powerful threats into piñatas.
Also, we get a lot of crashing in this part. The game seems to be getting more and more unstable, we need to rely on save spamming more than ever. Note that this save spamming isn't to survive enemies, but to make actual progress since we keep freezing. Also, we get more evidence that my game might actually be haunted by an evil spirit or something. We even get a child coughing at one point when the game crashes, which makes absolutely no sense since it sounds absolutely unlike anything we have heard in the game and the game had no real reason to make any sounds at the time of crashing. While I can explain the weird sounds of Selene's Web as an odd sound effect and the A****A as a sign with letters missing (until this point, no letters were missing from signs, meaning it didn't become realizable until the Temple of Agamanus), there is absolutely nothing that I can believe can adequately explain this beyond an extremely weird sound glitch.
We finish this part by getting some sort of idea as to the shape of the dungeon, only needing to explore a few more portions before we can get the Diamond. Note also that Phpminor was a guest in this part, the end coincidentally meets up with when he left the stream.
