Let's Play The Elder Scrolls Arena Blind - Part 32 - Eyes of the Soulless
We explore the first floor of the Temple of the Mad God in this part. This dungeon seems to reuse textures from the Labyrinthian, at this point it seems we will be basically seeing the same texture sets over and over. Let us hope for something with a bit more creativity in the design to keep it interesting, like the Elden Grove did.
We spend a good amount of time trying to navigate the maze of rooms that make up this first floor. Similar to a lot of other recent dungeons, exploration is pretty much pointless, but we might as well check out all the corners for completionist reasons. This dungeon is something of an endurance run, making you go without an area to rest until the end whilst giving you numerous areas filled with water to swim. This place is a lot like the Imperial Dungeons, there are waterways interconnecting everything.
Not much of interest to say this time around, since we pretty much are exploring rooms that don't exactly stand out. We get one room with Lava for some odd reason, but mainly it is just pillars and dead ends while fighting a variety of foes.
The most predominant enemy is something new, one of the Monks that stole the Diamond. These Monks are rather interesting, they are pure martial artists and so will decimate us by throwing kicks at us. Meanwhile their faces range from normal to the abyss of evil itself, though that is probably due to the limitations of sprites. The soulless black eyes in a humanoid face looks quite interesting though, I think they make for better Zombies or undead than the actual undead foes we have seen. The priests in town have similar faces, but the shape and location of these guys makes them look a lot more sinister.
Eventually I make it to floor 2 of the Temple of the Mad God, where I stop for the night since my battery was dying. As said at the beginning of the stream, this part was intended to be shorter and most likely would result in me remaining in some dungeon, so we will need to continue exploring next time.
