Continuing right where we left off, I continue with the determination to get the Talisman from the treasury of Daggerfall Castle. Exploring random odds and ends, we don't seem to be having much luck though, instead I just feel more confused how all of it relates back to that big magical cage we saw. Watch as I chase a lot of red herrings here.

Eventually we figure out the answer when I decide to explore the waterways in desperation. Randomly clicking things, I suddenly discover that clicking a set of chains actually results in us teleporting out of the water to the area surrounding the cage. Combined with the knowledge that the wheel in the water blocks our normal exit from the water, this gives me the belief that it serves more importance than we previously thought. It turns out that belief was totally right, one switch press later and we have gotten the Talisman itself.

But not so fast! We are a few feet away from the cage when we get a message stating that we have a year and a day or else we will die. Apparently the Talisman is a ticking time-bomb for anyone not of royal blood. Well, let us hope nobody keeps us waiting, especially since we are heavily reliant on letters appearing! I step outside and am greeted by... no letters. Tick tock, we are all going to die!

Traveling to Wayrest to fix a lot of audio related glitches seems to also cause us to get letters. Suddenly I get bombarded by messengers! It seems the Underking feels the Talisman is his because the Mantella is his and he has controlled the Numidium. I have no idea what he is rambling about, but apparently everyone else knows what this stuff is, so yeah. Welcome to the land of me not understanding anything!

But that isn't all. The King of Worms feeds us a letter that says no mortal should have it, so he should, and we will become famous for giving it to him. You know, because when you desire fame the best place to look is an underground cult resurrecting dead bodies. Yeah, something tells me he would betray me, mainly because I have killed possibly hundreds of his minions. Speaking of which, many other people won't even bother with me and just send assassins since they hate my guts! I didn't exactly succeed in any popularity contests, possibly because I slaughtered hundreds of everyone's minions and broke into everyone's castles looking for some random Princess or some crazy business.

In any event, I decide neither is offering a good reward and that at least the person loyal to the Emperor is a lady. In fact, we sadly didn't get an offer from Wayrest, I think with the more exposed cleavage he would be most willing to help them. But, out of his options, we help the Emperor out by going to some random tavern and giving the Talisman to the random woman we saw at the beginning of the game and then disappeared for most of the story. You know, someone we could totally rely on.

Then everything goes insane. Nulfalga suddenly isn't insane and instead invites us to her lair to get massacred by a bunch of Liches for some reason. But luckily we got the payment we were never really told about besides before getting the object dooming humanity, the Warlock's Ring. Suddenly we become a super-fast moving maniac that can damage spell casters with their own spells, basically fixing what has been a problem for us up to this point in a single stroke, so we become some overpowered maniac that slaughters Liches left and right.

When we finally arrive, grandma says we need to get her chest piece (Mandella?) back from the nether gates of Hell. So we get sent to a black void of nothingness where little exists but floating platforms and weird creatures I have never seen before. Yeah, totally lost, and now we have to play with some doors floating in midair to solve some puzzle. The game has gone off the deep end and we have plunged into madness...
