Let's Play The Elder Scrolls Daggerfall - Part 57 - AndyFall - The Adventures of Godman
We have made it past the official base game and so I am covering the few mods of actual interest. First up we have Andyfall, pretty much well known for being a massive clothing mod, which also adds a lot of random features we don't really care about. I show off a lot of them, though most of them are pretty worthless honestly.
The main changes to notice here is that Wayrest has had its leaders changed with Dark Elves, so that way they actually fit the lore found in the books, which is definitely a good improvement. Unless you are standing around in Wayrest a lot, this is quite easy to forget about, but it is definitely a way of saying someone is using Andyfall or some mod if you see Dark Elves.
Another small difference is that guards are now on horseback. This is pretty much just a sprite change, so they now can get in a lot of areas they look too big for and look pretty awkward overall, though it is pretty fun to fight them on horseback in the streets.
By far, the most important change here is the change of a class. Battlemages, enemy and you, are changed to Overlords. Think of them as really powerful individuals, as enemies they are actually rather nerfed and just become extremely annoying by taking forever to kill. Playing one, you pretty much get the game on rediculously easy mode, all your stats are really high and you can take on the world without leveling at all. Watch as godman tries to get the talisman and doom humanity, getting stuff only by massacring an entire town. Yeah, when Ricky still struggled to fight enemies at the end, and Godman here is able to pretty much one-shot most enemies, this is pretty ridiculous. If you want challenge, I am not sure if Andyfall gives that, since it breaks a class and makes the enemy version easier than it was before. Plus it makes some lower level stuff more powerful than it was previously, though stuff that is heavily ignorable. I will say it is nice to be able to just jump right into the game without having to deal with leveling, but the problem is Daggerfall's content is mostly leveled and limited to quests, so we still totally lack a sandbox nature. Still, this is a perfect way to cheat if you find you are terrible at Daggerfall!
Also note that I don't exactly feel like going through the same beginner dungeon over and over, so new classes don't really interest me enough to warrant a checkout. The most we really get is a different sprite, since we don't have third-person view, so it really feels pointless besides a few attribute changes and whatnot. It is good for a fan of the game, but someone like me who is just receiving closure to this project couldn't really care less about them. Maybe in Morrowind.
