A playthrough of "The Final Frontier" (Map24) of Final Doom: The Plutonia Experiment for PC, played through GLBoom-plus. 100% kills, 100% secrets (Max-Kill).

It's almost as if they took "The Chasm" from Doom II and fixed every single thing wrong with it, improved on it, and then added difficulty. Honestly this one isn't nearly as difficult as the last two, but it's tough in it's own right. It doesn't help when you have lots of Cacodemon and Pain Elementals in huge open terrain where they are free to fly around and fire at you or spit Lost Souls, and even less when you don't have lots of room to hide due to it's spacious design. Even LESS when you have a Cyberdemon off in the distance firing rockets at you!

Speaking of, the map allows for a few different ways of handling the Cyberdemon. One is a rocket fight back and forth from one of the platforms. Another is to do the method used in this video and snipe him with the BFG or combination of it and the SSG. Several things in this map allow for multiple methods of approach, so do what you can and handle it as best you see fit.

There isn't much else to add. Caution can be used here since despite it's open design, there are easy ways of dealing with everything, and more than enough health and armor to do so. It's fun, and the last map that isn't a brutal nightmare to deal with until the end, so from this point on out, it'll be a fight to the finish.
