Now that we've learned the ropes of how to play the game, it's time to make the sims that we'll be playing as in this let's play. I thought for quite a while on how I wanted to do this and I have to say, this was far from an easy decision.

Everyone has their own way of playing The Sims, with my own playstyle tending towards making families that end up with excellent jobs, fantastic skill selections and all the creature comforts that come with large amounts of simoleons. Rarely if ever did I explore the many features the other expansions opened up - for instance, I never visited Magic Town once. I wondered how I could balance out my typical playstyle with exploring some of the features of the expansion packs I don't often touch.

Then I came up with a way to do both at once, two brothers in separate families that I control in alternating videos. With directly opposing traits and very different outlooks on life, the way they live will naturally direct them on completely different activities and show off a larger part of the game then I otherwise would.

Before we can do that however, we need to make sure these two brothers have houses to move into. To further differentiate between them, one will move into an already existing home while the other settlers into a custom built house I'll be building now. I sometimes spent hours building homes just to see how they'd turn out; I often tried to build as small a home as possible that was fully functional (the smallest I got to was 4x3 separated into two rooms). I've always found build mode relaxing, a combination of the music and allowing creativity to thrive in the creation of a place a sim may one day call their own.

Next time, we'll start things off with the first day for one of the two brothers. Will things go smoothly or will it inevitably start going wrong at step one, the hallmark of The Sims? There's only one way to find out.
