95Khamulon is so large that not even the kenget use all of it, pockets of long abandoned rooms scattered about that we'll be uncovering as we work to reach the place where the high knowledge is kept. It highlights a definite pacing problem at this point of the game, not helped by the same encounters thrown at you repeatedly without pause. The game does still have some surprises ready for us but they're so far apart that the fights become very samey.
Most fights in Khamulon have an optimal strategy and once you figure it out, these combats become little more then a formality, an exercise in remembering the right sequence of attacks and spells to defeat your foes with the minimum risk. The only exceptions so far are the kizz; being so magic resistant, the fight devolves into an all-out melee where they often outnumber you and can swarm your back line of spellcasters. They'd be dangerous if it wasn't for the vast amount of healing poitions the game gives us and that you can easily stockpile before you tackle Khamulon.
Things won't remain so straightforward for long however, as soon we'll uncover an area with an obstacle we have to overcome and threats galore. You'll know when we get there.
