Let's Play The Sims #76: The Smith Family Tend to Roger
85Much like when Dave and Yvette took care of Jim when he was a baby, they'll be employing the same daily routine for taking care of Roger. The one thing that makes things quite different this time around is that Jim is a child. On the one hand, his needs need to be monitored as well as those of his parents, further complicating the morning routine and focusing attention away from Roger who may cry while we're not looking. We'll need to constantly check on him to make sure that doesn't happen.
On the other hand and contrary to what I originally thought, Jim can take care of Roger just as effectively as his parents can, freeing them up to focus on their own needs. With Jim going to school in a good mood, he has nothing that he needs to focus on when he gets back home; there are no skills he can advance and his grades will reach the highest they can get to naturally provided his mood remains consistently excellent. The few hours we'll save whenever he takes care of the baby will be a much needed reprieve for the parents, if only a brief one.
Either way, it's the same amount of time that they'll need to take care of Roger and even with Jim helping, it's going to be a tough few days. With some careful forethought, hopefully all will be well.
