The doors in this game act in a rather peculiar way compared to more recent FPS games; as soon as they're open not only are you able to shoot through them but so are the enemy. The downside of course is that you aren't able to see through the door to spot if an enemy is there until it's actually somewhat open. The enemies don't have that problem, able to instantly gain line of sight so they can start firing away. This can prove a problem with fast-reacting and dangerous foes lie in wait behind doors.

Add in a lot of doors where this is the case and you end up with a very interesting problem to overcome.
