Let’s Replay Covert Action – The Ariane Files [Case 18B]
While there certainly are ways the initial hours of the case could've gone better, I'd be hard pressed to beat getting the master plan, turning someone and having a lead on someone else. Whether we'll be so fortunate with the second person remains to be seen but it's safe to say that whatever head start they had on us has been clawed back already.
I've come to understand that the criminals progressing the plot is done in a particular order but said bits of progression occur at random. This can result in the plotters moving at a fast pace, bumbling about with the beginning steps or anything in between. While you'd think we want them to be bumbling all the time, a slow case means we have less messages to intercept and fewer items out and about to learn the location of. Sometimes the Interpol tip-offs are just what you need to make headway, especially when you've run out of suspects to investigate or want to know where that final item is currently situated. On higher difficulties, however, they're far less reliable; many are the red herrings floating about when things get tougher, ready to lead you astray into investigative dead ends.
