Let’s Replay Doom 3 BFG Edition #27: The Trouble with Teleporters [Strobe Warning]
Be advised that this video may contains scenes not suitable for people who suffer from epilepsy. Viewer discretion is advised.
We’ve heard quite a bit about what the experiments in Delta Labs have done to the many volunteers that signed up for bonus credits and none of it’s been good. Those that suffered the worst, however, were the people that signed up to take part in the teleportation experiments, with those fortunate enough to survive the experience quickly descending into madness. Were this an ethically run experiment it would have been shut down long before it reached the point of human tests but this was being run by Betruger, a man seemingly in the sway of super cliché evil.
It should come as no surprise to you then that we’re going to be using quite a few teleporters before this game is done. It’s also should come as no surprise to know that, unlike everyone else, we’re going to use them without any adverse side effects, at least ones that manifest during this game. Perhaps we’ve been hardened to the terrible things encountered during the teleportation process by all the combat we’ve had with the creatures or maybe we’re just made of stern stuff to begin with. Neither of those things makes the experience pleasant, however, which makes me wonder just how the UAC would have tried to market the technology even if it hadn’t driven everyone who used it mad.
