While the cold is a persistent threat and enemies can deal a lot of damage if you're caught off guard, the ice caverns don't need to be cleared quickly. Not far away from the entrance is a mana circle which means you can freely use your magic to blast foes with flame and heal from the chill's bite. Completing the side quest of returning the scroll to the ice sharga who wants it quickly makes exploring a lot easier as one of the threats of the level is effectively negated and the while the foes are numerous, they're not that deadly if you have Sparkle and Enigma to shoot at them. In fact, the game gets quite a bit easier with multiple ranged combatants on your side, especially when you take advantage of the patrol limits of the enemies or their sometimes spotty AI.

While Drake and his party are strong however, don't start getting complacent yet; Stonekeep still has a lot of challenging fights to come, one of them being the Ice Queen. To help defeat her we need to find the magical fire Kandoc talked of, an item unique to this floor and only useful against the Ice Queen. If we choose to use it is another matter but when the game tells you not-so-subtly that you need something to prevail, it's best to heed the warning else suffer the consequences of your folly.
