Let's Replay Stonekeep #34: The Ice Caverns
141With the realm of the fae entirely completed the only way forward is through the ice caverns. There Iaenni's lover is being held captive by the Ice Queen, quite fittingly frozen in ice. To free the last elf we'll need to brave the realm of perpetual cold and the dangers within, not least the cold. So cold are the ice caverns that the party will take small but frequent damage, making the foes you fight that much more dangerous as the time spent fighting them subjects you to more cold damage. It's a slippery slope of ice that if you're not careful will spell doom for your party.
Fortunately there are people who would aid us in the ice caverns. They have no love for the Ice Queen and though they cannot oppose her directly, they can help us do so. They have a few small quests for us to do, one compulsory to progress and one that'll make our exploration of this area that much easier. They're also some of the last friendly NPCs we'll encounter in the game, along with the last elf if we're fortunate enough to find him. If he joins our party however someone will have to leave but who? The answer might not be who you expect.
