Let's Try: Backpack Hero
0Backpack Hero's an Early Early Access game (currently in a web window) where you, a mouse, go venturing into The Dungeon looking for the most elusive of cheeses. You venture in with your little backpack, collecting loot and fighting mobs. As you level up, you expand the size of your backpack, allowing you to collect more stuff! Fight, die, start again!
This game has a lot of meat on the bones: it looks adorable, it's got a lot of tool/equipment combos, a lot of weapons to use, consumables to utilize, and a whole slew of status effects both good and bad. There's a variety of mobs, dungeon events, and other neat little things to keep you interested run after run. I didn't do amazingly at it in this video, but that's more because I was still learning what things did and how they worked. Each run did better than the one prior, which is a great example of the learning cycle.
Backpack Hero is coming to steam EA in April 2023, and I cannot wait to see how it evolves.
