Let's Try: Ring of Fire, Broken Signal, and Nepenthe

What's this? This is me being too lazy to cut separate videos, that's what. So from here on in, Wednesdays will be chaptered videos! This week I played through Ring of Fire, Brokan Signal, and Nepenthe!
Ring of Fire (or the prototype of) is a detective game that starts dark and gets darker. It's got solid writing, sounds, and visuals. In fact I'd go so far as to say that it's stylish as hell in every way. I went and wishlisted the game after playing it, and I think that's a pretty solid move. It's not going to be for everyone, given the content, but I dig it.
Broken Signal is a FPS that procedurally generates a tower of enemies to shoot, or more likely grenade into the great beyond. It features a jetpack and bullet time that I didn't even know about. It's rough around the edges to be sure, but there are some interesting little things in the rough. I love that grenades are discrete entities that can collide with other entities including other grenades.
Nepenthe is an RPG? Adventure game that is extremely inspired by Undertale. It's eating that games playbook almost cover to cover. This playthrough features what I'd call "the bad ending" which is fine. I appreciate that it is indeed entirely hand-drawn, and it's got a lot of fun writing. The biggest drawback to the game is that it does almost no signposting as to where you should be going. It lets you explore and make your own fun, or murder, depending on your actions.
