Let's Try: Loop Hero (the Demo)
0Loop hero is a Roguelike, card-placing, base-building, rpgish, dungeon crawler. It's probably other things too, but I can't find all the descriptors. Loop Hero is doing _a lot_ in a little package.
The premise of the game is that the universe as we know it has been torn asunder by a Lich. You, for some reason, can put the world back together a little bit at a time. It does not all, however, stick. Every time you step onto the path, it's all new, and you have no idea why. You walk the earth rebuilding it as you go, increasing the treasure and danger as you go. When you head back to "town" you can rebuild for some permeant upgrades to your future adventures.
Honestly there's a lot going on in Loop Hero, and it's almost all driven by trial, error, and discovery. You have to juggle risk and reward as you rebuild your map and evaluate your stats and equipment at the same time. Do you try for one more loop, or do you retreat? Do you build the cemetery next to the vampire mansion or out on its own? Do you keep the ring that gives you 20% vampirism, or swap it for the extra defense? There's a lot of small game-time decisions that can make or break your run.
It's goddamned awesome.
