Level 8 Simple Walkthrough (First Quest) - The Legend of Zelda First Quest 100% Walkthrough
17This is the 8th dungeon of the First Quest. This video shows only what is necessary to beat the dungeon while also getting all important items. To see a complete walkthrough of this level where I go into every room & grab everything there is to get then see the video linked down below.
As with all dungeons in this game it's not a bad idea to have a potion on hand. Furthermore, if you have not already done so, I recommend that you upgrade your sword & tunic as I have. You can find videos showing the locations to these upgrades as well as the locations of all Bomb & Potion Shops linked down below.
Quick reminder: as there are some rooms with Bubbles, if at any point they jinx you then you can use the Recorder/Whistle from Level 5 to immediately cure the jinx.
Goodies in this dungeon:
Book of Magic (0:32): Go 2 rooms to the left of the entrance. Kill all of the enemies in this room (except for the Bubbles) & push the leftmost block up or down. Go down the stairs & grab the book. The Book of Magic alters the Magic Rod so that when the rod's spell attack hits an object the spell will turn into a flame. This can replace the candle for lighting up dark rooms.
Magical Key (2:37): Near the very top of the dungeon is a room with a blue Gohma. To the right of this room is a room filled with enemies & a staircase. Kill the enemies & make your way down the stairs to get the Magical Key. The Magical Key is a very special key that acts as a permanent small key that can be used endlessly. With this key you will no longer have to worry about locked doors.
Boss Gleeok (4:49): This is the same guy from Level 4, however, this time he has 4 heads. If you have the Magical Sword then the 1st head takes 3 hits, with each of the other heads only taking 2 each.
