How to Get the Food (First Quest) - The Legend of Zelda First Quest 100% Walkthrough
7This shows the cheapest place to get the Food during the First Quest although it is not the only place you can get it. In total there are 5 different places that you can buy food. If you'd like to see all of the food shop locations then see the video linked down below.
To get to the cheapest Food location from the starting screen go up 1 screen, left 3 screens, & up 3 screens. You should see a group of 6 Armos. Touch the middle Armos in the top row & he'll move out of the way revealing a staircase to a shop where the Food can be bought for 60 Rupees. If you need more Rupees then watch the video linked below to see where you can find all of the hidden Rupees in Hyrule.
Food can be used indefinitely to lure the enemies on the screen toward where it is placed (it doesn't work like magic though so keep your expectations in check) & it also must be given to the hungry Goriya in Level 7.
