A month and a half after the previous version , The Document Foundation has released LibreOffice 7.0.4 , which is the most advanced installment of its office suite. Reading the note published today, something they always mention always catches my attention, in part because I think that everything they do in this regard is little. And it is that TDF continues working so that its software improves the compatibility with the one of Microsoft, that is to say, the Office that continues being the most used.
On the other hand, The Document Foundation also says that 114 bugs have been corrected , which will improve stability, reliability and the aforementioned compatibility. The company encourages all LibreOffice users to update to this version, including the 6.4 series, as it has reached the end of its life cycle and will not receive any further updates. This is in contrast to the fact that LibreOffice 7.0.4 is still not offered as the best option for production teams, so I would recommend that users who are using the most tested series stay on it until their Linux distribution goes live. v7.
LibreOffice 7.0.4 fixes 114 bugs
The new version is now available to download from the project website for all supported systems. Linux users can download its code, its DEB package or the RPM, and the different Linux distributions that are in the 7 series should update the packages in the next few days .
The next version will already be LibreOffice 7.0.5 and will arrive in mid-March . Most likely, this is when The Document Foundation recommends the seventh major version of its office suite for production teams as well. The next version will arrive in June and will be the one that, if there are no surprises, will mark the end of the life cycle of this series.
