Lifeless Tech Demo: PHASE 3: EVE Aether Wars TECH DEMO [PC]
0SPOILER: This is just flying around aimlessly with some combat that is completely uninspiring
Yes, this was a stress testing tech demo, but... BUT...
... this was exactly how NOT to market a Beta/Demo//Test.
I have no doubt the premise and the promise behind what Aether Wars is, or will be, is very impressive for those that are already deeply invested and knowledgeable about the EVE universe... but as a first, or long-absent re-visited taste?
The demo gives you no real purpose or substance to even want to bother staying online to contribute to the test/demo. It seems so very strange that possibly THE MOST complicated and profoundly meta-rich games ever created would roll out an interactive "demo" that has less engagement value than mobile trash-hole games like Candy Crush.
How that is going to impact on the actual stress test data they collect is kind of troubling if it is intended to be a true MMO-in-a-single-instance-battle?
Seriously... this could have.. SHOULD HAVE been presented with a more engaging set of mechanics.
