Linux Lite 1.0.0 Review - Distro for new users
From Linux Distro Community we have Linux Lite 1.0.0 Amethyst, a system aimed at new users thinking of trying Linux for the first time.
It was designed to show how simple Linux could be, to dispel myths about it being a scary operating system to use, and to promote the Linux Distro Community.
A lot of work has gone into making it friendly for new users with simplified Application naming, and it comes with easy to use installer scripts for carrying out updates and installing some commonly used software.
Its based on Ubuntu 12.04.1 LTS and uses a combination of XFCE and LXDE meaning its lightweight and good for older machines which are perhaps struggling to run Windows XP.
