1Welcome to a game stuck in dev hell for like 5-ish years ... The Chant , a horror game with Xbox360\PS3 graphics ... that wants to fake production values , with post effects... but dated models show its a dev hell game, even Mo-cap and animations well are PS2 like ...but then you play SIREN from 2007 (part 1 or 2) on ps2 , a game from the creator of Silent Hill ... a PS2 game , that to this day is the golden standard what a TRUE HORROR GAME SHOULD BE LIKE www.youtube.com/watch?v=AkG3DH6IZw0 ... and you are baffled , what "The Chant" wanted to achieve... since its game structure is basically well... Alan Wake , but with a female lead ...
Its one of those products , that has a nice setting but forgets about a hook to make theirs game not look dated ... in 3-10 years ... so lets fix this mediocre crap and transform it into a 70s GIALLO ... lets add Italian on it , MASSIVE TON OF NOISE , MACROBLOCKING , SATURATED COLORS , BAD DUBBING , FAKE FILM EFFECTS ... Simple put ,make it look like a 70s B-Movie Giallo
Now your game has hooks ... too bad the devs forgot to spin it like it ... in this 5h on normal , 3h on easy ... 7h-ish on hard horror game
That has 3 endings ... each Horrible to the main character ... so Longplay in 4 parts ... for this short game (even The Evil Withing 2 was like solid 20-30h long but this :/ )
BY the way this is yet another game that reallllllllllllllllyyyyyy needs a SSD ... since streaming from HDD for them was not a thing they well thought about ... why i am mentioning this , if you get SLOW LOADS like 3 to 5 min per screen , abrupt audio cuts and HARD scene cuts ... well its theirs streaming engine fault ... even SCORN that was marketed as a SSD 3000mb\s read speed min game ... works fine on a HDD with 180mb\s read speed (you even saw it in action when we played it in here)... but this , wow ... not to mention sudden slow downs in maps when you wander around the woods ...
