This is the longplay of the game Kishin Douji Zenki: Batoru Raiden (in English, Demon Child Zenki: Battle Raiden), action and platform game produced by CAProductions Co. Ltd. and distributed by Hudson Soft, being released in 1995 exclusively for the Super Famicom in Japan. This is a game based off of the manga series by Kuroiwa Yoshihiro, which ran from 1993 to 1996 and spawned several games and this title is the only action/platformer related to the license.

The story slightly follows in the footsteps of the anime and manga: Enno Ozune, temple master Enno used the powers of the demon Guardian Spirit Zenki, to defeat the Goddess Karuma. After defeating Karuma, he sealed Zenki in a pillar. Centuries later, a descendant of him, a girl named Enno Chiaki managed to awaken the Guardian Spirit Zenki, which took the form of a child. She uses her bracelet to transform the demon back into the powerful creature that defeated Karuma. Karuma's evil seeds (which look like eyes) start to appear and turn people into monsters and Zenki needs to purify them again. Even with great powers, Zenki needs to be well behaved at times because it is Enno Chiaki who controls the bracelet that turns him into a Guardian.

In the game, we control Zenki, both in his child form and in his Guardian form. As a child, Zenki can only throw punches and kicks, while in his adult form he can perform powerful attacks against monsters. To advance in the stages, it is necessary to destroy statues in the stages to break barriers. The orange and gold statues are the ones that must be destroyed, while the common statues have items to restore health and scrolls for use in a devastating attack, which affects all enemies on the screen but costs the protagonist's life as well.
It is an interesting game, based on a famous anime. Unfortunately and unlike the anime, the game has aspects that are already outdated for its time and the Super Famicom programmers already had the knowledge to better explore the console in 1995, the year this game was released. Still, it's an interesting game.
I hope you enjoy the video.
