This is the longplay of the game Art of Fighting, a fighting game released initially for Neo Geo in the early 90s. It was the second franchise of fighting games created by SNK, right after the Fatal Fury series, which takes place in the same universe.

It was SNK's first fighting game series with the drawings of illustrator Shinkiro, who later worked on the Fatal Fury and The King of Fighters series.

Art of Fighting was based on a manga story. In the game, a family of karateka called the Sakazaki Family goes through a crisis when they discover that Ryo Sakazaki's younger sister, Yuri, has been kidnapped. Ryo has the help of his best friend Robert Garcia, who is also his rival within the dojo. The two begin to travel the entire city in search of clues, meeting unconventional subjects within strategic places such as Todoh's dojo, the periphery ("Downtown"), "Mack's Bar", and even a military base. For Story Mode, you can choose between Ryo Sakazaki and Robert Garcia.

Ryo and Robert's encounters with the opponents who guard these places are not very diplomatic: the conversation soon becomes provocation, and the fight starts. The player's mission, therefore, is to discover the captivity where Yuri is held hostage, using everything she knows in the martial arts.

During the game, our heroes can (and should) participate in bonus stages, where they can learn Haou Shoukouken (a very powerful magic technique that uses the hip width to shoot it through the hands), as well as tameshiwari tests (where it is necessary to break bottles and blocks of ice with bare hands). Each character (either the main or the secondary) has a set of moves and also a Desperation Move (which uses 75% of the spirit bar and only works if you have 20% or less health), in addition to some grab characters and climb the walls (wall jump).

The game is very good, a very faithful port and with a simple but very engaging story. The only problem with this game is that some characters have a lot of movement and others have few moves. The video was made with Ryo Sakazaki's Story Mode, then 1P Vs COM (with all the secondary characters) and then Story Mode with Robert Garcia.
I hope you enjoy the video.
