Lost Temple of Heliopolis Walkthrough - Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy 100% Walkthrough
14Upon entering the Lost Temple you'll be greeted by Urbain the Archeologist. He'll tell you he's looking for the Rosetta Stone (which has been shattered into 6 pieces) & enlists your help in finding it.
Start by going left where you'll find a Save Statue (it's not a bad idea to save now). Continue on & shoot the chains on the door with an Acid Dart to unlock & pass through it. Break the bust in this room to get Rosetta Stone Piece #1.
Go back to the entrance & take the right path. Slam the switch on the ground & hop a ride on the glowing platform. It doesn't matter if you take the right or left side first, but I took the right side first.
Hop on the floating platform & jump over to the right side. Go through the chained door & slam this switch to ride the platform down. At the bottom there will be a large cage held over a fire. Dissolve the chains holding the cage up & 2 Skeletal Axemen will appear.
This is the 1st time you've fought a Skeletal Axeman since you've gotten the Capture Beetles so make sure to catch one of them. After killing the 2 Axemen, 2 more will emerge. As you defeat each 1 they will drop a body part which you need to pick up.
Once all 4 are defeated a stone slab will emerge that says to place the bones from head to toe, from left to right. The correct order is: Skull, Arm, Pelvis, Leg. Placing them in the correct order causes stone blocks to jut out of the walls giving you platforms to jump on.
Make your way up to the top. Make sure to catch 1 of the Dark Worshippers as you do so. When you reach the top you'll find on the right side a couple chains on either side of a gate. Dissolve them & break the bust behind the gate to get Rosetta Stone Piece #2.
Continue through the nearby chained door. At the end you'll find a floor switch to the left & a statue suspended by a chain to the right. Shoot the statue down & move it onto the switch to make a bridge appear. Hop over the bridge & kill the Giant Green Worm. Break the statue that appears to get a Glyph Key.
Drop down & you should see 3 metal doors & 3 chains. Shoot the middle chain to drop the door & break the bust to get Rosetta Stone Piece #3. After, you can place the Glyph Key in its place or you can wait until you get the 2nd one. Either way use the floating platforms to reach the left side of the room.
On this side you'll see 3 more doors. This time shoot the chain on the left to get Rosetta Stone Piece #4. Take the wooden bridge over to the chained door & go through it. Slam the switch & cross the gap. There are 4 doors in this area all hiding levers. Pull all 4 levers to lower a block & then shoot the chain holding the block up to make it fall (this can only be done after pulling all 4 levers).
Use the block to reach the 2nd level & go to the right. Behind the chained door is a small room that contains a bust hiding Rosetta Stone Piece #5. Turn around & take the left path. Through the next door you'll find 2 Almost-a-Brutes. This is the 1st opportunity you've had to catch 1 so do it now.
When they are defeated a Fire Armadillo will appear. In the next area you'll need to burn down a wooden structure so use the armadillo to burn it down. Pull the handle & a couple chains will be exposed. You'll need to shoot the chains before the handle recedes back into the wall (you don't have to shoot both chains in 1 pull). After dissolving both chains a beam will be lowered that you can grab onto & use to reach the next area. Once again, kill the Giant Green Worm & get the Glyph Key it was guarding.
At this point I HIGHLY recommend that you go back to save. You'll be fighting some enemies soon & there is a decent chance you might die.
With both Glyph Keys in hand place them in their appropriate places to cause 2 bridges to emerge that lead to the next area. Cross the bridges & shoot the 2 chains to continue on. Author's note: you'll notice at this part the game decided to load only 1 of the chains for me. The only time this ever happened was when I was recording this video (go figure). I fixed it by simply leaving & reentering the room to make the game reload the 2nd chain. This shouldn't happen to you.
Break the bust in the center of this room to get Rosetta Stone Piece #6. You'll now be forced to fight a series of enemies. 1st up are 2 Sharpbeaks. Round #2 consists of 2 Knives Cats. Once they are defeated 2 Big Bulls will emerge. If possible I recommend starting off behind the Big Bulls so that they don't immediately see you. This will give you a chance to easily take 1 of them out. Otherwise fight them as normal while being very careful not to get hit.
Once all the enemies are defeated a Gold Ankh Piece will appear in the center. Grab it & the gates will be lowered. Go back to Urbain & give him the Rosetta Stone Pieces. He'll give you the Underwater Projectiles & tell you to visit him in Bedouin Outpost.
