Swanke’s descent into Pilgrim’s Perch was not so much a journey as it was a series of unfortunate stumbles connected by ladders. The ancient wooden walkways groaned under his weight — or perhaps in protest against his very existence. Armed with two broken buckets and unmatched confusion, he fought his way past the Mistress of Hounds, who was more surprised than defeated, and then through the grotesque mass that was the Congregator of Flesh. Swanke didn’t win through skill — he simply didn’t know when to die.

He traversed rotting bone bridges, kicked off praying pilgrims, and looted every corner with the enthusiasm of a man who didn’t understand curses. The Umbral whispered secrets; Swanke whispered back. No one knows why.

Every ladder led to new horrors, every shadow to something worse. He fell through planks, rolled off ledges, and discovered treasures he couldn’t name — like the Defaced Ring, which seemed fitting.

Eventually, he reached the Vestige of Blind Agatha, battered and possibly infected, only to find a map and a door he couldn’t open. Typical.

Now, he stands at the edge of the swamp. It reeks. So does he. But in his eyes: the glimmer of determination. Or a fungal infection. Hard to tell.

Swanke marches on. He doesn’t understand the path — only that it goes forward.
