It's been more than a year since I uploaded anything related to another one of my favorite N64 games, F-Zero X. Let's fix that, shall we? Today, we're going to do the main cups starting with the Jack Cup while racing as the last of the "Four Kings of F-Zero," Dr. Stewart and his Golden Fox.

The Golden Fox is not exactly a smooth ride. He has low Body and Grip rankings; both of which are D class. This means that it can't take punishment well even with its relatively average weight. However, it does sport a mean set of boosters as it is has an A class ranking in that area, so at least you can get some of the best boosts for your energy consumption in comparsion to say the Blue Falcon with its C class boosts.

As for the Jack Cup, as you would expect, it's the starter set of courses with light difficulty. However, in Master Class, the AI is seriously ramped up as cars can and will zoom on by making these easy courses more of a hassle. Ironically, I find the Master Class AI in this cup to be one of the most irritating due to the simple tracks where the AI have less of a chance to stumble as opposed to the more advanced cups with their more difficult track sets. Anyway, let's get to the tracks of the Jack Cup.

Track #1 - Mute City ~ Figure Eight: One of the easiest tracks set in the famous town of Mute City. It has a wide track with large dash plates. The loop here is more for eye candy. Be sure to keep pace hitting the plates and staying on the inside of the track as the AI is more fierce in Master Class.
-Personal Bests: Time - 1'12"253, Top Speed - 1427km/h, Best Lap - 20"801

Track #2 - Silence ~ High Speed: The easist track in the game, but also deceptively dangerous. This track is exactly what it says. It aims for high speeds as you aim for the goal. However, the high speeds are also the main danger as if you go too fast, you will fall off the track. Try to keep up with the AI in this mode as they will leave you far behind to the point that you can't catch up. This is, to me, oddly enough one of the hardest to grab first place on Master Class courses.
-Personal Bests: Time - 1'04"704, Top Speed - 1471 km/h, Best Lap - 18"359

Track #3 - Sand Ocean ~ Pipe: A very interesting track featuring that introduced the titled obstacle. You can move all around inside the pipe so use that to your advantage to avoid traffic, but be careful of where you're positioned when you exit the pipe as you might fall off. Also, keep clear of other cars in the slim portion near the end of the first pipe.
-Personal Bests: Time - 1'05"408, Top Speed - 1350 km/h, Best Lap - 18"983

Track #4 - Devil's Forest ~ Corkscrew: Really a basic track with little notable features except for the track's namesake corkscrew which is more of a visual obstacle at best. Just be mindful of the hairpin early on and some of the dirt roads along the way and you'll be fine.
-Personal Bests: Time - 1'11"509, Top Speed - 1327 km/h, Best Lap - 21"274

Track #5 - Big Blue ~ Cylinder: An extremely fun track at the ever popular water world known as Big Blue. This stage also boasts high speeds, but this time you're on a cylinder which have the same properties as the Pipe in Sand Ocean, but now you're outside at all times with no "safety net" to keep you from falling off. Thus, don't go too fast or turn crazily or you're sent flying. It's usually safer to drive inside of the cylinder rather than outside to prevent from falling. I'm also better than this as I usually hit all the dash plates in each lap. I blame not playing this track in a while. This is also a track where a lot of AI-controlled machines just can't seem to stay on the roads.
-Personal Bests: Time - 1'19"278, Top Speed - 1269 km/h, Best Lap - 24"530

Track #6 - Port Town ~ High Jump: A lovely track in my favorite F-Zero city, Port Town. As the last of the Jack Cup tracks, it is the toughest, as far as starter courses go that is. It starts of with a nasty little road shift in the beginning while it also includes an ice zone leading towards the featured obstacle, the high jump itself. The high jump is easy though as long as you keep straight, but on the way down, be prepared to turn so that you don't run into the rails. Also, try not to turn too hard upon landing as well so that you don't peel out and lose speed.
-Personal Bests: Time - 1'19"660, Top Speed - 1751 km/h, Best Lap - 24"443

NOTE: All current bests are as of this current moment.

Well, that's the Jack Cup in a nutshell. It's been a while since I played the main tracks since I've been playing the X-Cup the most nowadays, so forgive some of the sloppiness here and in the remaining cups that I will tackle. As per the usual, hope you all enjoyed and thanks for watching.
