Welcome back to The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall, a role-playing game originally made by Bethesda for the MS Dos. For this playthrough, we are using the Unity remake of the game and a lot of mods to enhance the experience. The game involves navigating the sensitive political landscape of the Illiac Bay, a region of Tamriel on the fictional planet of Nirn comprising of the countries within the bay as well as the various fragmented powers surrounding it on both High Rock and Hammerfell. We have been sent to the place on a mission by our Emperor Uriel Septim VII to investigate two curious instances, the shade of King Lysandus that roams the streets of Daggerfall at night and a letter that he sent to the Queen of Daggerfall a few years ago that never reached her. Despite being a dungeon crawler at heart, Daggerfall places a lot of emphasis upon the player's individual exploration as choosing one among the various political factions in the region as they navigate the complex mess that is the Illiac Bay. In this playthrough, we will be playing as a Spellcaster and will shift our focus towards the Mages' Guild and the Order of Arkay.

Believing his work to be done, Strangeblood decided to retire in the Illiac Bay itself and was wondering how he would spend the rest of his days when he was confronted by a simple page who handed him a letter and disappeared.

Reluctant to open it, when he finally did, it turns out that work had not been finished yet. Lady Brisienna had invited him to meet with her in the White Wolf Tavern in Wayrest.

When Strangeblood finally made it to The Flying Barbarian, Lady Magnessen told him that the Totem of Tiber Septim had been found and that it was supposed to be Lord Woodborne's possession in Woodborne Hall. However, when they mounted an offensive and sacked the place, the Totem was nowhere to be seen. Unfortunately, the Blades suffered heavy casualties in the process.

This news brings Strangeblood into the mix seeing how the Totem is probably in the possession of King Gothryd and the Blades no longer have enough people to offend Castle Daggerfall and survive. But Strangeblood, being a mage, can get in and out unnoticed and fetch the Totem from the vaults to be delivered to the hands of Emperor Uriel Septim VII himself. At least, that was the plan.

So Strangeblood dived into Castle Daggerfall, and used his clairvoyant abilities to locate the Totem. His insight told him that it was definitely somewhere near the throne, but he was feeling some kind of interference indicative of magical barriers.

So he began with his exploration near the thrones. What he finally found was a chamber with a floating central column containing what was probably the treasure of the entire castle within it. He first needed to lower the platform for this work and so he did by spinning a flywheel located in the sewers at the base. He then touched one of the chains which teleported him back to the top. From there, it was a simple matter of flipping a lever placed atop the column to raise the magical barriers and Strangeblood could finally get his hands on the Totem.

However, the Totem had a mind of its own. It told Strangeblood that he was not worthy to hold the Totem and that only someone who has the blood of Tiber Septim running through their veins can hold it.

With that, Strangeblood was travelling from town to town, headed back to Wayrest, when, as if all the spies in all of Tamriel were privy to his plans, he received a whole slew of letters from various powerful people in the Illiac Bay including people like Gothryd, The King of Worms, The Underking, and even the likes of King Eadwyre, and Queen Akorithi.

After reading through all of their petitions and weighing the pros and cons of putting such great power into the hands of one person, he decided that it would be best to return the Totem of Tiber Septim to Zurin Arctus, otherwise known as The Underking, or more relevantly, Tiber Septim's Battlemage. After all, the world shall remain in balance once balance has been returned to the Aethereus.

This is how Strangeblood determined Who gets the Totem:

00:00:00 Introduction
00:02:07 Lady Brisienna's request
00:04:44 Evading guards in Daggerfall
00:06:08 Castle Daggerfall
00:46:09 The Treasury
00:53:13 The Truth About the Totem
00:57:38 Everybody's friend
01:06:31 Restoring Balance to the Universe

Stay tuned to find out what happens next on The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall!
