Welcome to Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Double Agent. It is the fourth entry in the Splinter Cell franchise and features Sam Fisher as the protagonist as his daughter's death sends him down a downward spiral until he accepts the riskiest mission of his career: to infiltrate a terrorist organisation as a Double Agent in a mission that is known only to him and his handler, Irving Lambert. The game features Stealth along with the light and shadow mechanics that the franchise is known for even though the light mechanic has been greatly simplified. The game focuses more on scripted events and action-packed sequences rather than a smooth tactical infiltration experience, marking a turning point in the series.

With the Red Mercury device primed and ready for detonation and the plans of the JBA close to fruition, Emile sends Moss and his team to ensure the delivery of a Red Mercury device for Masood Ibn Yousef so that that gentleman can use the bomb for his own goals.

Meanwhile, Emile Dufraisne is preparing his own Red Mercury device for detonation in New York. Now or never, Sam must act and stop the bomb before it is too late.

But before he can do anything, Emile beckons Sam to follow him to the interrogation room. The path is stained with someone's blood and there is a lot of it. In a shocking surprise, Sam finds Lambert tied and tortured within, moments away from breathing his last breath. This is when Emile hands Sam a Walther and tells him to dispose of the supposed spy who was caught trying to infiltrate the base.

Fighting his basest instincts and carefully examining every consequence of every action that he can possibly take here, he is snapped back into reality by Jamie, who gives Sam five seconds before he shoots Lambert. So Sam realises the importance of what is at stake here and eliminates Washington permanently before he can harm his friend. The bomb is ready. The plans are out in the open. All that matters now is to stop them and Lambert could not agree more.

This action has been caught on the CCTV cameras and all stations are alerted to shoot Sam Fisher on sight. Meanwhile, the JBA realises that the SWAT has surrounded their building and that they might have to accelerate their plans if they want to see them succeed.

With that, Sam scans Jamie's retina and sneaks out of the Interrogation room and uses the ladder to access the Armoury where he grabs his trusty night-vision googles as well as his SC-20K rifle just in case it becomes necessary to use it.

From there, it is a matter of infiltrating the deeper levels of the JBA stronghold to use the elevator and get down into the lower levels of the compound.

Once in the deeper levels, Sam sneaks past multiple heavily armed patrols to reach the labs where Emile has decided to detonate the bomb within the next ten minutes owing to the pressure of the SWAT teams lining up outside the JBA Headquarters.

Now Sam hurries to deactivate the bomb and sneaks into the bomb chamber in a fashion that would make himself proud. He finds Emile standing guard there and decides to dispose of the baldie before defusing the bomb.

He first picks the lock to the casing open, then he hacks into the controller, before finally carefully operating the crane to remove the bomb from the canister and prevent an explosion. It was at that moment that the SWAT came into the HQ and started arresting everybody.

Sam used the cover of smoke to grab an officer's uniform like Agent 47 and disappeared.

His next stop was to take care of the second bomb meant to be delivered to Masood, currently floating in the middle of the New York Bay. He snuck aboard the boat in time only to find Carson changing plans since he hadn't heard from Emile yet so that even the bomb meant for Ibn Yousef was to be detonated right in the heart of New York.

With his task clear, Sam climbs aboard the Bridge, kills Moss, and deactivates the far simpler bomb while a SWAT helicopter decides to fire a missile at the boat and destroy it altogether, letting Sam make a clean escape into the Hudson river.
