2I contacted police about this one because it's so bad. It turns out even with footage they're powerless because they haven't seen it themselves and no felony was committed. That would be if he actually hit me and didn't stop at the site of the collision. Even though at least the former would have happened if I hadn't stopped accelerating and braked for him. It's obvious there was no time for him to react, let alone come to a full stop in time. What it comes down to is that no justice will be served as long as victims manage to save themselves. In order for this scum to be caught you should volunteer to be hit or let them run free until they do eventually hit someone. Awesome deal.
His speed was 65 km/h. My light had been green for over a second before he even crossed his own stop line, implying his light had been red for at least that long. Before then there may have been a short all-red phase, and before then a yellow phase of four seconds, so close to six seconds from yellow to stop line, and close to two seconds from red to stop line. First-class asshole.
