I only recorded this 6 months ago. Just got reminded of it again and decided to upload this segment. This was on an open day of Ligfietsshop Tempelman in Dronten where we could try recumbents. Or just ride along if you already had one; I was one of only a few newcomers thanks to this amazing weather. This was the driest moment of the ride. During the second part in the Noordoostpolder it really started pouring. My seat would fill up every few minutes. I wish I could show you, but my second battery ran out before then.

The group had been quite slow. I wanted to check out the front but was held off by the very wobbly girl in front of me. There was finally some room to overtake properly here. It turned out Ymte (of Intercitybike, co-located with Tempelman), who was leading the group in his green Strada DF-XL velomobile, also had plans on that stretch. I know he wasn't trying, but by the time I caught up we'd left everyone else way behind. He may not even have pedaled after reaching the top of the bridge. He certainly wasn't when I rode alongside him. These velomobiles are legendary, not just experiencing very little drag but also maintaining some speed in a crosswind.
