MAJOR News for Path of Exile 2 Accounts and Cross-Platform Play RELEASED!
245In this video, we dive into the major account system changes coming to Path of Exile to support Path of Exile 1 & 2 shared microtransactions and Cross-Platform Play across all supported platforms!
Here's what you can expect with the upcoming patch:
Account Name Discriminators:
Getting the name you want is about to get easier! With the introduction of a new "discriminator" system, you’ll now be able to have your preferred username—even if someone else has it. Perfect for the new unified account system!
Sub-Accounts for Merging Accounts Across Platforms:
For those of you with accounts on both PC and console, you can now merge these into a single account. Your characters will stay organized in separate sub-accounts, which you can select on the character selection screen.
Microtransaction Management:
Microtransactions will still be tied to their original sub-accounts. For a one-time action, you can ask support to transfer items between sub-accounts—just make sure you won’t need them on the original account. Note: purchases on PlayStation remain platform-specific.
PC Platform Merging:
If you created multiple accounts on different PC platforms (e.g., Steam and Epic), you can now merge one account from each platform. This will streamline logins and make managing your account much easier.
Extended Downtime for Patch Deployment:
To ensure everything goes smoothly, Path of Exile will be offline for around 4 hours during this patch update. We appreciate your patience!
