Making A Falchion for Skallagrim - Part 4
In this special build episode we continue to make a custom falchion for Skallagrim to review and test. This is part 4 of a series of videos completing this sword project.
Matt starts by rough grinding in the details on the spine of the blade using a narrow contact grinder wheel on a Bader b3 variable speed sander.
Ilya grinds the hilt rings before forging them to shape on the Nimba anvil using a wooden mallet.
We also talk about the importance of tapering your tang and show doing so.
We also take a 2nd look at the historical example of the particular falchion that we are recreating.
